2008

2 - 4 July  The  Public Health Association will be holding its annual conference on 2-4 July 2008, in sunny Waitangi – right on the water’s edge and a stone’s throw from the Treaty House. The theme of the 2008 conference is ‘Tapu….Noa….environmental, physical or both’, a Maori concept that suggests health is influenced by many factors across social, cultural, political and physical environments.  For example, how housing, public transport and the provision of green space affects our health.  Abstracts are now being called for the 2008 Public Health Association Conference.  Your abstracts may take the form of an oral presentation (25 mins including questions), an interactive workshop (1 hour), a case study (45 mins), a Wananga (1 hour) or a poster presentation, and must be based on one of the four streams listed below:

Te Ao Hurihuri – public health in the modern world
Matauranga – filling your kete of knowledge
Kaitiakitanga – our environment
